We’re getting ready to build up the The Sunday Star-Times Designer Garage Sale for 2011 - at an exciting new venue - as part of the New Zealand fashion Weekend.
From early tomorrow morning we’ll be stripping out part of the New Zealand Fashion Week structure and replacing it with the walls and changing rooms of the Designer Garage Sale. By 5:00pm we’ll be ready to open the doors for all our fashion fans for a late night of fun fashion shopping.
On Friday evening the doors will be open until 9:30, and then we’ll be back at 10:00am for another full day of shopping with an amazing lineup of great new designers and end-of-Winter fashion. You need to be there to get your fashion fix!
This year the DGS is in a NEW VENUE - the Viaduct Events Centre - right on the edge of Auckland Harbour. You can walk there across the new bridge from the Viaduct, or come from the other side: the new Wynard Quarter. Either way, you’ll recognise this extraordinary building when you see it.
When you arrive you’ll find a fantastic fashion village - with bars and seminar areas, along with a huge fashion runway. Do stay for a drink and enjoy the atmosphere after your visit to the sale. YEs, you can get your ticket at the door. It is always a huge effort to build the sale - as more than 100 people are involved and plenty of mayhem as things are shipped in and out.
This season’s designers include:
Bettie Monroe, Bossanova, BLAK, Brady, Chaos & Harmony, Doosh, Federation, Ingrid Starnes, Ioanna Kourbela, Julian Danger, Kagi, Kathryn Wilson, Katie-Maree Cole, Linda Farrow Collaboration, Lonely Hearts, Lonely Lingerie, Matchi Motchi, Mexican Treasures, Miami Jewel, Mimosa, NVAH, Neverblack, Sabatini, Salasai, Sable & Minx, Sarah Riley Shoes, tkstore, WeSC, Zara’s Vintage Yard Sale and more.
NB: We said in an earlier mailout that Tigerlily was in the sale, but sadly, they weren’t able to join us!
So much to see! Your entry ticket gets you into seminars, shows and more*
Get your ticket at the door. See you all there! See HERE for ticketing details.
* Check the site for details on your ticket price inclusions and schedules. Note that Friday night is an R18 event. See www.nzfashionweek.com
Opening hours: Friday 02nd September: 5:00pm - 9:30pm and Saturday 03rd September: 10:00am - 6:00pm;
